No SmartBox employee is more important to the day-to-day operations than Cora Ellen Jones. As office administrator, she manages equipment, agendas, and various department operations to ensure efficiency and excellence.
Cora Ellen Jones joined SmartBox as office administrator in 2016. She brings experience in management and customer service, having started her own company and working for an international food company.
Cora and her husband are civic-minded entrepreneurs who have operated the business Jones Group Construction and Janitorial Services for a number of years. It was as a business owner that she developed her stellar client and customer services skills. She also has worked as a production and technology supervisor and spent several years working in the support services, graphics, and direct mail departments for Papa John’s.
Cora got her start with Rauch Industries, a facility that helps mentally and physically disabled adults gain workforce training. She cites this as one of the most fulfilling and rewarding jobs.
“There are many people in New Albany whose lives I’ve touched while working at Rauch Industries,” Cora said. “It was amazing to see some of these disadvantaged adults develop work skills and become self-sufficient.”
Cora Ellen Jones has continued to find ways to serve others by founding the nonprofit, faith-based organization Heavenly Blessed Occasions, a group that hosts spiritual and educational events to support local charities.
“I lead with kindness and consider myself a perfectionist and creative person in every form,” she said.
Cora’s passions include dance and music. She has her own dance team, Heavenly Blessed Occasions Praise Dancers, and teaches liturgical dancing. She also has an extensive Barbie doll collection — over 700 strong — which includes celebrity dolls such as the Spice Girls, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, and TLC.
