Spent the last two decades in digital publishing, so me and SEO have pretty much grown up together. Still enjoys trying to figure out what the heck Google really wants from websites.
Ann All first read Highlights magazine, the publication that made her know she wanted to be a writer, in her childhood dentist’s office. So in a way, working for SmartBox has brought her full circle.
Her early ambition was further nurtured by her mom, who got her a home subscription to Highlights; Sister Helen Francis, an elementary school teacher who taught her to diagram a sentence; and friends and family, who let her interview them for a homemade “newspaper.”
A native of Indiana, Ann All went on to work at real daily newspapers, where she drank lots of coffee and wrote about everything from local politics to prize-winning tomatoes.
Her career has also included stints in public relations and advertising copywriting. One of her favorite professional accomplishments was “scooping” the Wall Street Journal by a day with her story about the sale of E-Trade’s ATM network.

In her free time, Ann likes wandering in the woods, usually with her two dogs and sometimes with her husband and teenage son. She still drinks lots of coffee and reads Highlights whenever she gets a chance
