The EnterpriseCorp, the entrepreneurial arm of Greater Louisville Inc., presented the award at The Loft at The Gillespie. The selected standout companies exemplify high-potential, innovative work being done throughout the region’s entrepreneurial community. SmartBox, founded in 2001, was honored for its record revenue growth.

The EnterpriseCorp honored companies in two different categories, HOT and FAST. The criteria used in this year’s selection of six HOT Companies include being a technology-based company that is using innovation to differentiate itself in the marketplace, and incorporating some level of intellectual property with its innovation.
The criteria used in this year’s selection of six FAST Companies include high-growth companies that are increasing revenues by at least 20 percent annually for three years or more, starting from a revenue base of at least $1 million. This growth pace means that the company has doubled its revenues.
In addition to its steady revenue growth, SmartBox has expanded its office space and plans to add dozens of jobs over the next few years.
