Today, more than 90 percent of people begin their search for a dentist online. When they find your practice listing, they’ll also find your online reviews.
Research shows that people trust online reviews just as much as or even more than they trust recommendations from friends and co-workers. If too many of your reviews are less than stellar, you’ll likely lose prospects who otherwise might have chosen your practice.
Reviews are so important to dental practice success that SmartBox has developed our exclusive Rave™ Reputation Management System to help dentists safeguard their online reputations.

We Have Ignition. Now What?
According to a recent survey, a website has to load within three seconds or risk losing up to 40 percent of searchers. Mobile users are particularly likely to click away after just a few seconds.
Here’s what happens when a prospect clicks on your website listing. All the homepage static files – image files, script files, and so forth – get “called” from the server they’re stored on. If the distance between the user and the server is short, the files should load quickly. If the distance is great, your site will take longer to load.
There’s a fine line between getting a prospect to your website and having them visit one of your competitor’s sites. Fortunately, SmartBox has the solution.
By making sure your website files are stored on a Cloudflare server that’s closer to your website, SmartBox typically achieves a one- to two-second decrease in page load time.
Cloudflare has networked data centers across the United States and overseas. SmartBox uses Cloudflare’s servers as a content delivery network, serving your static website content from the node closest to the user.
The result is faster and more reliable page load, based on our routine testing of our doctors’ website load times. If there’s an unacceptable delay, we take action to correct the problem as soon as it’s identified.

It’s an online jungle out there, and it’s not an exaggeration to say that it’s survival of the most visible.

The Annual Meeting of the American Dental Association was held last fall in Atlanta. Following the meeting, a very experienced dentist penned an article filled with her takeaways from the meeting. The article appeared in the Times of Chester County.
The upshot of the article is that the end of dentistry as you know it is clear and inescapable.
Corporate dentistry will become the dominant service provider, much the same as the medical field is now dominated by large organizations. Mid-level providers are the wave of the future, and their presence will erode the role of the practicing dentist. And teledentistry, with its flaws and promise, will emerge as a major force in the industry.
If you’ll pardon me for borrowing a line from The Big Lebowski, “This aggression will not stand, man.”
